Marathon Ventures, Inc. is a manufacturer/distributor for the Herman's Nut House, Pear's Gourmet and Maggie’s Gourmet Popcorn brands. We have been producing fine nuts, coffee and popcorn products since 1915.

These positions may work in any part of the productions facility. Some of the positions you might be interested in are Filler/Palletizer, Machine Operators, Packer and/or Kitchen Operator/helpers.

Glazer/Kitchen Operator -While working with the Kitchen operations, the employee will assist in the production, quality assurance, sanitation, safety, and operations during the designated shift. Will ensure raw material is correct for the assigned production job. Will measure and calculate ingredients as required. Will ensure all Roaster/Kettle/Oven operational checks are conducted before, during and after each shift. Will ensure oil levels are always appropriate. Assist with monthly inventory counts and cycle counts as needed. Participate in training, mentoring and safety teams and programs. Strive for CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT.

Packer- Mark and label containers, container tags, or products using marking tools. Measure, weigh, and count products and materials. Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products in order to ensure that packing specifications are met. Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records. Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment such as conveyors or in specified areas such as loading docks. Seal containers or materials using tape. Cleaning as required. Strive for CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT. The learning process allows us to improve everything we do; every service, every product, for every customer.

Roaster Operator-·Work in Kitchen assisting in the production, quality assurance, sanitation, safety, and operations. Ensure raw material is correct for the assigned production job. Filler/Palletizer- Assists with job startup, changeovers and work center cleaning. Loads products into processing/packaging equipment.· Builds pallets of WIP and Finished Goods. Follows Employee and Food Safety guidelines. Keep a clean and safe work area.· Understands and is responsive to customer needs - both internal and external. Collaborates with others to achieve a desired result. Understands and embraces continuous improvement. Is punctual and reliable with respect to work attendance. Performs other job duties as directed.

Machine Operator- Retrieve packaging and raw material from storage as needed to keep line running efficiently.
Visually inspect boxes, cartons and bag material for printing defects.Ensure proper sizing of container (box).
Observes operation of equipment and performs necessary adjustments to ensure product specifications are met to include Oxygen levels and seal integrity. Perform net weight control checks and make equipment adjustments to minimize give away. Perform metal detector checks as required to ensure product integrity. Perform Allergen cleaning between runs as needed. Ability to work with Allergens.
Palletized finished cases and maintain accurate paperwork. Communicates any changes in product flow, equipment malfunctions, shortages or deviations from specifications to Production Supervisor, maintenance or other operators verbally and/or in writing. Assist Production Supervisor by monitoring breaks. Inspects packaging, coding and seals to verify conformance to specifications and performs necessary adjustments to insure compliance. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Completes end of shift reports with all required information at shift end. Evaluates line worker performance and communicates observations to supervisor, including areas for improvement.

HOURS - 1ST SHIFT- 5AM TO 3:30PM Monday through Friday
