About the Role:Custom Glass Solutions is seeking a talented individual to join our Production Leadership Team! The Production Superintendent will be responsible for managing manufacturing operations. The selected candidate will report to the Operation Manager and serve as a member on the Plant Leadership Team. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who possess the ability to relate to employees at all levels. The Production Superintendent’s primary responsibility will be to direct and coordinate activities of manufacturing to obtain optimum efficiency of operations and maximize profits. As unique situations present themselves the successful candidate must be sensitive to customer needs, corporate goals and company reputation. The selected candidate will interface with all departments at our Upper Sandusky, OH location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing process and support department supervisors to assure that safety, quality and productivity are maximized.
- Ensure that the production areas maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment. Implements and supports all aspects of 6S.
- Must be willing to lead, mentor, and coach direct reports as well as production team operators.
- Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions and recommending action.
- Establish and control conditions of production to satisfy customer and quality specifications.
- Develop and maintain cost-effective alternatives and improvements to the production process.
- Perform analysis of manufacturing materials and determine optimum control levels.
- Assess training needs and supports employee training, including communication of procedures and work practices to employees in their area of responsibility.
- Monitor production boards daily and throughout the shift to verify hourly production rates & targets.
- Possess 5+ years manufacturing management experience with a bachelor’s degree in business management or related field. (preferred)
- Demonstrate commitment to professional and ethical standards including sound judgement and strong problem-solving ability.
- Ability to proactively execute multiple projects, while staying organized and committed to meeting deadlines.
- Formal certifications in continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Accelerated Root Cause or Transactional Lean.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Commitment to uphold company culture and values.
