Program Manager – External Focus (Foster Family Events and Hospitality)
Job description
The primary goal of this role is to ensure that Hope & Home programs and events that connect the Colorado Springs community with the Hope & Home community of foster parents and children are thoroughly, thoughtfully, and graciously executed.
Responsible for the details behind events and resources for families via Hope Workers. Oversight will include front desk, volunteer groups, volunteer recruitment, donation stores, and family resources.
Ideal candidates will enjoy working with both adults and children, be flexible and organized, and bring a high level of enthusiasm and joy to their work.
Approximately 30 hours/week. Weekend hours (typically Saturdays) will be a frequent requirement of this role. Occasional evening hours will be expected as needed.
Hope Workers:
- Together with the Program Manager - Internal, this role will ensure the Hope Workers are supported in their roles as they provide support and encouragement to families in the foster parent community.
Events:
- This role will be the event lead for Colorado Springs events. They will coordinate the calendar, planning, preparation, execution, and follow-up of all events, working closely with the Program Team to ensure thoughtful marketing, communication, and attendance at the events.
Foster Parent Resources:
- This role will be responsible for maintaining relationships and contracts (as needed) with groups and individuals who provide practical resources to foster parents. This may include sourcing new resources and encouraging their connection to Hope & Home, facilitating a positive drop-off or delivery of resources, as well as thoughtful follow-up. This role will also work with Hope Workers to ensure that they have what they need to make these resources available to families.
- This role will be responsible for ongoing support of the Donation Boutiques at Hope & Home, ensuring thoughtful coordination with volunteers about ongoing and changing family needs.
Volunteer Recruitment and Supervision:
- This role will be a member of the team responsible for the development, execution, and support of volunteer engagement across Hope & Home.
- This role will be responsible for the volunteer lifecycle and coordination for volunteers who are involved in donation sorting and group volunteer projects.
- They will coordinate heavily with the Program Manager – Internal regarding events and donation volunteers.
Colorado Springs Building Use:
- Front desk standards and supervision will be a responsibility of this role.
- This role will be responsible for maintaining inventory and tour-readiness of the Colorado Springs facility. This will include maintaining inventory and supplies.
- This role will also be responsible for coordinating external group use of the facility and key code administration.
- This role will also be required to provide 8 hours of front desk coverage per week.
Program and Marketing Support:
This role is a part of the Program Team, as such, general support around resources, volunteers, events, building use, etc. may be required. This role is also responsible for providing “overlap” between clinical and marketing departments, sharing appropriate stories and content for various marketing needs.

*This role is not “clinical” and should refrain from giving families explicit clinical advice or instruction. It will be important for this position to keep clear distinctions between these roles.
Requirements:
- Must complete CPR and First Aid training (upon hiring)
- Must complete Hope & Home orientation and training (upon hiring)
- Employee will often lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Full mobility is required.

Please Note: Hope & Home’s benefit package is contributory. An employee is responsible for a portion of the monthly premium automatically deducted from the employee’s paycheck.
