Summary:
As a key member of the Division’s staff, this project manager will have a variety of responsibilities, including, but not limited to managing project operations for a four year grant to develop and evaluate a Computerized Assessment and Referral System (CARS).
Responsibilities:
- As a key member of the Division’s staff, this project manager will have a variety of responsibilities, including, but not limited to managing project operations for a four year grant to develop and evaluate a Computerized Assessment and Referral System (CARS).
- This task will include the implementation and execution of CARS at multiple clinical study sites.
- This position requires the project manager to have exceptional managerial and leadership skills, a strong data collection skill-set and experience analyzing data using SPSS and/or SAS; this position also requires some IT knowledge (i.e., especially MySQL, HTML, and PHP).
- The project manager will be responsible for overseeing field research; this entails coordinating data collection procedures and activities at different sites, designing and implementing procedures for scheduling and conducting mailings, in-person and telephone interviews (sometimes during off-hours and sometimes off-site), and supervising Division research coordinators and DUI site staff involved with the project.
- The project coordinator will collaborate with senior researchers about research design and implementation, as well as preparing reports, and peer reviewed articles.
- Other general Division duties include collaborating with other Division researchers in writing a weekly newsletter disseminated via the Internet, preparing substantive aspects of research grant proposals and IRB applications, especially literature and database searches, and conducting analyses for various other projects.
Masters Degree (MPH, MPP, MS) and previous experience managing a large research project strongly preferred. IT training strongly desirable (MySQL, HTML, PHP)
Work Experience: The applicant should have a strong interest in scientific research, in general, and addiction related research, specifically. Experience managing large applied research projects required. The candidate for this position must have highly developed organizational and research skills, excellent computer and IT skills, and the ability to work both in a team environment and to function independently, yet collaboratively. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills also required.
