Summary
Responsible for timely accounting and reporting for a portfolio of properties (4-6). Provide financial and operational support to site staffs to enable their success. Contribute to the accounting team by providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Communicate issues to accounting and operations management as needed to identify areas needing additional support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and process accounts payable for timely payment and expense recognition
- Month End Close process completed per deadlines
- Review of Balance Sheet for accuracy and classifications related to:
- Cash and Bank Reconciliations
- Mortgage Payment information, including escrows
- Security Deposit Reconciliation
- Accounts Payable
- Prepaid and Accounts Receivable
- Intercompany accounts
- Review Income Statements for accuracy and classifications related to:
- General Ledger review for operating expenses, major expenses and capital expenditures are classified correctly
- Identify missing expenses and follow up with property/vendor to resolve
- Review Utility expenses and offsetting revenue for trends or issues
- Review of Balance Sheet for accuracy and classifications related to:
- Summarize financial results and variance explanations for owner reporting
- Provide daily support to sites for recording appropriate transactions in OneSite
- Review all Final Account Statements for accuracy and credit card fraud
- Assist in completing annual budgets or forecasts if needed
- Assist in implementation of new platforms or processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications
- Proficient with MS Office, including excel
- Detail oriented with ability to analyze data
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service
- Superior interpersonal skills to work well with a diverse set of customers and staff
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize deliverables
Education and/or Experience
- BS Accounting degree
- 3-6 years of accounting experience
- Preferred experience in the multifamily industry
Other Qualifications
- Experience with multifamily accounting software such as Real Page a plus
