Job Summary
Responsibilities
Act as team leader to train new teammates, instruct on proper use of tools and safe handling techniques, and be the one who ensure paperwork is completed correctly and turned in promptly. Be the liaison with the Inventory Control Supervisor and keep them advised of any changes to the schedule or any issues that arise. Make sound judgement calls on best practices to use and make solid judgements. Process surplus pick up requests daily as scheduled or as requested. Process surplus delivery requests daily as scheduled or as requested. Notate and sign all appropriate logistics documentation for transfers. Ensure documentation for all daily activity is complete, accurate and submitted to supervisor daily. Operate all Logistics & Property vehicles and equipment in a safe manner. Report any equipment accidents or problems to supervising authority immediately.
Property/Inventory Control
Place all surplus and storage items in correct area in storage locations as indicated by Inventory Control. As property is delivered to warehouse locations, validate paperwork with Inventory Control staff to ensure property is handled accurately. Assist Inventory Control staff with inventory, tagging and warehouse activities as needed. Place all surplus and storage items in correct storage locations.
Show surplus property as needed by departments. Ensure Augusta University departments and staff have adequate access to surplus storage areas as needed to view and obtain surplus property. Other duties as assigned.

Logistical experience
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university, five plus years of experience in Materials Management, Transporting, Warehouse and Logistical experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality, to provide excellent customer service and achieve department and organizational goals. Ability to lift heavy furniture, climb stairs, drive, read, write, and correspond via email for scheduling. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. General knowledge of moving techniques/skills, Asset Management, and Supply Management. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Skills needed for warehouse operations: use a forklift, pallet jacks, carts, etc.
SKILLS
Must be able to assume a team lead position in order to train new team members on safe handling techniques, use of tools and equipment, and make sound judgement call. Must communicate directly with Supervisor regarding scheduling and needed changes.
General knowledge of transporting techniques/skills, Asset Management, Supply Management and common sense. Ability to provide excellent customer service and achieve department and organizational goals. Must be able to drive box truck, vans and pick-up trucks. Must be able to lift heavy furniture, climb stairs, drive, read and write, correspond via email for scheduling.
Skills needed for warehouse operations. Able to use forklift, pallet jacks, carts, etc. Furniture and equipment transporting skills. Must be able to read and write legibly and communicate effectively with good grammar.

Pay Grade: 8
Salary: Minimum $15.00/hour - $15.63/hour
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
