Colonial Behavioral Health provides opportunities for recovery to individuals and their family members in the areas of mental illness, substance use disorder, and developmental disabilities. Colonial Behavioral Health serves the citizens of James City County, City of Poquoson, City of Williamsburg, and York County.We are currently recruiting for a Psychosocial Services Specialist within our Psychosocial Rehabilitative Services program. This position works with individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or developmental disabilities encouraging individuals to live independently.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Job ResponsibilitiesPlans, implements, and updates individualized service plans (ISP) through an interdisciplinary team and person centered planning approach for individuals who receive servicesProvides training, supportive counseling, and general supervision for skill development to include individual and group instructions in various settings.Provides independent living skills training to address personal hygiene, self-care, home maintenance, safety, home economics, nutrition, social behavior, and money managementOther duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Monday – Friday are typically 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. but hours may vary based on program needs.

Skills and QualificationsMust have the ability to work in a group home, home-like settingMust be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time.High school diploma or equivalent required.Bachelors Degree in a human services field required. Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-A) required.Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required. DMV record must be submitted with application..
