HII Mission Technologies is searching for a Part Time Systems Administrator 3 to join our team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland!
Install, configure, and maintain network switches, routers, workstations, servers, and other peripherals in support of mission activities. Optimize and fine tune performance and troubleshoot common to complex system and network problems. Develop instructions for and assist with installing, implementing, integrating, and maintaining networked systems. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and LAN/WAN problems. Resolve connectivity and interoperability issues between network components. Identify and determine corrective actions to be taken. Maintain configuration oversight of the systems and network components. Ensure components are functioning properly and that system backups are conducted to prevent the loss of data. Install upgrades or modifications on customer workstations. Administer, create, and delete user accounts, assign, and reset passwords. Maintain licensing and updates.
Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
- Install, configure, and maintain network switches, routers, workstations, servers, and other peripherals that support offensive mission activities.
- Optimize and fine tune performance and troubleshoot common to complex system and network problems.
- Develop instructions for and assist with installing, implementing, integrating, and maintaining networked systems.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and LAN/WAN problems.
- Resolve connectivity and interoperability issues between network components. Identify and determine corrective actions to be taken.
- Maintain configuration oversight of the systems and network components.
- Ensure components are functioning properly and that system backups are conducted to prevent the loss of data.
- Install upgrades or modifications on customer workstations.
- Administer, create, and delete user accounts, assign, and reset passwords.
- Perform tasks required to support the computer workstations, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephones, and Video Teleconference (VTC) equipment on the Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS)
- Provide expertise in Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux-based computer network operations
- Assist during security assessments of servers/network devices/security appliances and during security assessments with regard to accuracy and efficiency
- Assist with Creation of operational Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists to maintain the service (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly O&M checklists); build Tactics, Techniques and Processes (TTPs) and Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) associated with service checklists
- Manage and operate monitoring tools/capabilities with the enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) and create/tailor complex event alarms/rules and summary reports
- Work as part of a security incident response team as needed
- Assist ISSM/ISSO/ISSE with the Integration/Development new techniques to improve Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability for networks/systems operating at various classification levels
What you must have:
- 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
- Must have active TS/SCI w/poly security clearance
- Experience in System / Network Administration
- Experience with maintaining and troubleshooting system resource issues and security issues
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with small and large network environments and supporting computer resource issues, resolving problems, installing systems, updating and upgrading systems
- Possess excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of System software, networks, and computer equipment; knowledge of VoIP and VTC over NIPRNET, SIPRNET and JWICS
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification; Microsoft, Unix, Linux administration, VM technologies, Retina, Gold Disk; Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS); SOPs, TOs; Training/ experience with Symantec, MacAfee, Kaspersky, AVG, Nmap, Burp Suite, Wireshark, Visio, and/or Docker
