Purchasing Agent -Entry Level

Supply Chain Manager

Job purpose

AAkron Rule is searching for a qualified individual to fill the role of Purchasing Agent. This position is to support all procurement activities associated with Aakron Rule operations as well as assist with transactional and day to day purchase order maintenance.

Duties and responsibilities

• Support operations procurement needs as required for production at our New York and Tennessee Plants.
• Evaluates inventory levels, prepares forecasts and make purchases to support demand.
• Work with suppliers to establish vendor managed inventory (VMI) programs as appropriate to achieve inventory and cost objectives.
• Will be responsible for the economical and efficient procurement of a variety of goods and services.
• Maintain list of suppliers, including approved supplier list. All suppliers should be recorded with their most current contact information and payment terms.
• Facilitate quoting of materials and competitive bidding processes.
• Manages purchase orders, blanket agreements, and all transactions associated with Aakron Rule manufacturing operations.
• Takes appropriate action in resolving discrepancies in order quantity, price and seeks corrective action on late deliveries.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Competency with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Purchasing experience preferred but not required.

Hours

• Monday through Friday from 8am – 4:30pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
