Job Description
Job Title: Purchasing Clerk
Reports to: Purchasing Director
Job Summary: This is an entry-level hourly, non-exempt position. Responsible for assisting in the efficiency of the Purchasing Department
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Process Orders
- Create purchase orders in accounting system
- Follow-up for delivery
- Prepare and post receivers
- Additional dutiesOperating postage machine
Answer phones
Assist Buyer
Assist Director
Assist Warehouse Supervisor
Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
Possible travel to off campus FMC work locations as requested
Requirements of the Position:
- 3 years of related experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong customer service skills
- High level of oral and written communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Detail oriented with multiple tasks simultaneously
- Problem solving
- Critical and logical thought process
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and use of office equipment and programs
- Uphold the highest level of confidentiality
- Strong team player
