The Opportunity
We are looking for technology pioneers for our Platform Engineering team to build Software Solutions that will enable us to run Acropolis OS seamlessly across multiple Hardware Platforms.
The ideal candidate will have excellent programming and automation skills and a proven track record of designing and building automated qualification test suites for features/products, in the areas of Management, Diagnostics, Monitoring of Data Center Hardware like Servers, Storage Appliances, etc.
This role provides a unique opportunity to work on and interact across all layers of the product from a compatibility & interoperability perspective, viz. Storage & Compute Hardware, Firmware [BIOS, BMC], Drivers, and Software [Operating Systems, Hypervisors, and Management plane, Life cycle management]
Your role
- Participate in qualification and delivery of vendor agnostic platform software & solutions.
- Provide technical assistance to Customers and Nutanix Partners for issues resolutions.
- Drive software and hardware bug triages and debugging, and guide dev teams to deliver fixes.
- Participate in design review and develop feature test plans and automation.
What you'll bring:
- Hands-on experience in writing functional and system test plans and automating them.
- Strong Programming & Debugging skills, preferably in Python.
- Good understanding/application of Design patterns.
- Good Understanding of modern x86 Server Architectures, Storage, networking technologies, Operating Systems & Virtualization .
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a product company in a similar role.

I joined Nutanix in October 2018 in the Platform Engineering organization as a manager for the OEM Engineering operations. While I was a bit apprehensive of jumping into a new domain given my lengthy background in ASICs and hardware, I was also excited about the opportunity. I must say that I was not disappointed, and the journey has been one of constant learning, new challenges, and great camaraderie.
I started my career as an ASIC Design Engineer for Hard Disk Drive ( HDD) controllers implementing SCSI interface protocols, eventually moving into designing and implementing Signal Processing algorithms for both HDDs and Solid-State Drives (SSD). This part of my career took me from Seagate Technology, SanDisk and Western Digital through various engineering and management roles. Back in 2017, I cofounded a consumer product company in the Digital Health domain, following a long-time desire of mine to do something in that space. My primary role was leading the hardware, firmware, and software development engineering activities. And as with all start-ups, one plays many roles including fundraising, partnerships, contracts, legal etc. This was enriching experience, but the operations had to be wound down after 18 months. Following that I joined Nutanix, and the excitement of start-up continued here.
I’m always interested in how technology can simplify life for people in many ways. In that respect, I believe that Nutanix has a huge role to play, in making infrastructure management easy for IT teams. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $ 108 ,000 - $2 16,0 00 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
