Position Overview

To develop, sustain and manage the QC Production of HMA. Works within

and supports the QC Lab Team to meet/exceed production specifications.


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Support Safety-Labs and adhere to safety policies
  • Lead and coordinate implementation of QC plan
  • Communicate with management
  • Keep PWL spreadsheets updated and communicate with group on performance
  • Direct, develop, and coach QC lead techs
  • Mix changes and development of Mix Designs-Analyze data to predict potential problems
  • Certification of Labs
  • Mix Designs
  • Aggregate Planning and Utilization
  • Setting Policies and Procedures for Daily Production
  • PPM meetings Internal/External
  • OMG Targets
  • Verify mixes are entered into PRISM.
  • Recruiting
  • Requesting Job Mix Formulas and Communicating with Local and State Municipalities
  • Producing Quality Cost Effective Mix


Other Responsibilities

  • Work with Sales to optimize customer service
  • Customer Complaints – resolve quality issues
  • Attend weekly meetings with Construction and scheduling
  • Provide investigation, response and follow up to quality issues


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality Control Management
  • Strong computer and mathematical skills and problem solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with all levels of organization
  • Manufacturing of Asphalt/Aggregate knowledge
  • QA/QC MDOT Certification
  • Tim Murphy Superpave Mix Design Certification
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Be able to make HMA Production changes
  • Able to develop solutions to key problems with little direction

Work Environment

  • This position will work most of the time in an office setting but may also on occasions work in a laboratory at a plant. Work environment will vary depending on job task.
