SUMMARY OF JOB CONTENT

This position will support all quality activities and will assist with the implementation and continued maintenance of the Quality Management System.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Quality Engineer Level I

  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001 / AS9100 Integrated Management System.
  • Participate in root cause analyses.
  • Participate in daily Production Gemba’s.
  • Participate in the internal audit process and assist with the proper closure of findings.
  • Issue and manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).
  • Analyze internal and external data to assist with investigations and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Generate and maintain regular reports to management.
  • Participate as key member in the release of material.
  • Working knowledge of Minitab or similar statistical software.
  • Working knowledge of a LIMBS system.
  • Participate in all other assigned duties by supervisor.
Quality Engineer Level II

  • Perform all the duties of a QE I.
  • Lead implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001 / AS9100 Integrated Management System.
  • Lead teams in root cause analyses.
  • Manage the Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) process.
  • Manage the internal audit process.
  • Take an active role in driving continuous improvement, including business processes, cost reduction, training improvement, safety improvement, and product quality.
Quality Engineer Level III

  • Perform all the duties of a QE II.
  • Design, develop and deliver quality-focused processes, systems, and training.
  • Provide oversight and management of Lab Operations and personnel.
  • Lead improvement initiatives of the QMS.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

Quality Engineer Level I

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering / Science or other discipline from an accredited institute, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of quality engineering or related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of statistics including Statistical Process Control (SPC) and hypothesis testing
  • Working knowledge of MS office applications
  • Internal auditing training and experience
  • Prior work experience in an ISO9001, IATF16949 and or AS9100 environment
Quality Engineer Level II

  • BA / BS in Science or High School Diploma and equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in a quality department in a manufacturing environment.
  • ISO 9001 Certification or ability to attain certification within first 6 months of employment.
  • [AS9100 Certification or ability to attain certification within first 6 months of employment (once adopted)]
  • Working knowledge of Minitab or similar statistical software.
  • Working knowledge of statistics, including Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Hypothesis Testing.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS office applications.
Quality Engineer Level III

  • BA / BS in Science or High School Diploma and equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in a quality department in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
  • Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
  • Auditor certification in ISO 9001 or AS9100 or ability to attain within first 6 months of employment
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Working knowledge of Minitab, SAP and Quality Management System Software (QSYS)
  • Experience working in automotive or aerospace manufacturing
  • Experience working with carbon fiber and / or composites
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Certified Quality Engineer
  • Excellent Technical Writing skills
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing
