The Opportunity

Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, L.P. is seeking a skilled individual for our Quality Technician position at our DTTP - Waller, TX location. The Quality Technician performs on-going testing of components, received & finished goods (prototypes, pilot units and first production) in support of new product launches, CIP, QIP and resourcing initiatives. Follows a general test plan to secures samples, sets-up test, conducts/monitors tests, formulates results and conclusions and generates reports. Daikin Texas Technology Park- has a footprint of 4.23 million square feet under a single roof, and is the third largest factory in the United States. Responsibilities:
May include:
  • Prepare and conduct testing according to defined plan - securing samples, measurement instruments, consumables, build test equipment, etc.
  • Monitor and document test progress, data and results in predefined formats, maintaining easily retrievable information according to system rules
  • Generate and issue individual and summary reports
  • Assist in corrective/preventative action both internally and externally based on test results
  • Test and analyze field returns (components and finished goods), install field trial units
  • Field data acquisition and/or trouble shooting
  • Assist engineers in data collecting, analysis of DOE’s and quality improvement projects
  • Interpret and follow work policies, procedures and safety rules
  • Transfer product at times through safe operations of Forklift / Arial lift
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area
  • Participate in additional projects to support ongoing business needs

Qualifications:
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems including electronics, system instrumentation, refrigerant charging, wiring, components, coils and motors
  • Working knowledge of test equipment and processes including microscopy, metrology, and chemical analysis
  • Knowledge of HVAC safety and governing standards preferred
  • Brazing skills – copper & aluminum; must be Brazer certified through successful completion of in-house training
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blue prints, work instructions and documents.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy, analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and be able to grasp concepts quickly
  • Ability to prioritize requests from production and outside customers simultaneously
  • Ability to be a strong team player, results orientated, posses a dedication to excellence & sense of urgency to achieve business objectives
  • Ability to apply good judgement and decision-making skills along with strong work ethics and integrity on the job
  • Forklift & Arial Lift knowledge–to safely transfer product to/from labs (in-house training & certification required)
Experience:
  • 1 + years as an installer or in a role with design & operation of HVAC systems
Education:
  • High School diploma / GED
  • 1+ years of formal technical training in electronics or HVAC
  • Brazer & Forklift Certifications -Daikin internal training program
