Job description

The Wilderness Express is looking for a Rail Support Supervisor to add to our railcar operation. Wilderness Express operates deluxe dome railcars pulled on the Denali Star Route traveling 350 miles between Anchorage and Fairbanks during the summer season. Position is available late April through September.

Responsibilities include:

· Supervise WEX Rail Support team – which includes Stockers and Washers.

· Prepare Par Sheets based off of numbers given from Manager on Duty (MOD)

· Ride to depot with MOD when train arrives. Count current inventory, and prepare sheets for stockers.

· Conduct Rail Support meeting when crew arrives for shift.

· Stock items from green Attn: Rail Support Sheets

· Weekly inventory of the alcohol, janitorial, and retail items.

· If necessary, portion out prepped items.

· Ensure items are following FIFO protocol both in prep kitchen, and onboard.

· Assist Rail Support as needed. If you leave before them, touch base with Shop Foreman about their progress.

· General office maintenance and data entry as needed.

· Compose nightly report to be sent to MOD.

Must possess or be able to obtain an Anchorage Food Workers certification. Must be 21 yrs of age by the start of the season. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

This position works the night shift. There is some flexibility with schedule, will be discussed with individual candidates needs.
