Job description
The Range Safety Officer's primary responsibility is supervising the ranges, interacting with members, and ensuring all safety rules are being followed. The RSO enforces rules and policies in a consistent and respectful manner, and assists shooters with marksmanship techniques and other advice as appropriate. The RSO serves as the on-duty person responsible for park safety, security, responding to incidents, and assisting with disputes. The RSO reports to the Chief Range Safety Officer, and to park management.The RSO also assists with general range maintenance, cleaning tasks, building/repairing target frames and shooting props, some grounds maintenance, snow removal and ice hazard mitigation. Must be able to use power tools and hand tools safety, and operate other equipment as required. Must hold a valid driver's license. Will be required to lift and move steel targets, props and other match equipment weighing up to 50lbs. After receiving additional training as a Range Officer (RO), responsibilities will include planning, preparing and directing some of our various competitive shooting events.
The ideal RSO will be both a team player and an independent worker. They will be reliable, flexible, proactive, and have integrity. Must be legally able to possess firearms. RSOs should communicate well, multi-task efficiently, be capable of physical labor outdoors in all seasons, and have a great attitude. If this sounds like you, come join us!
