The mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation seeks experienced and highly skilled real estate professional to join our Legal Team.
A successful candidate must be able to locate and purchase land as well as re-sale homes, and handle all aspects of a real estate transaction.
Duties and responsibilities
- Perform preliminary due diligence to determine feasibility of property. This includes sewer/septic, utilities, property access, survey, deed restrictions, zoning and other covenants.
- Review property with supervisors for approval, establish offer/contract price.
- Make offer on property along with due diligence (list of minimum T2T land requirements, etc.) to be incorporated with land purchase contract.
- Follow up on offer/acceptance and contract details.
- Search for local attorney to review contract.
- Work with in-house counsels to re-negotiate/modify contract, if necessary, in accordance with attorney’s suggestions.
- Make sure Land Purchase agreement is executed properly by all parties
- Search/hire surveyor to survey property – coordinate with engineer.
- Search/hire engineer/county to perform perc/soil tests – coordinate with surveyor.
- Obtain all reports for due diligence, review and address any issues. Advise on how to proceed with property, either cancel or move forward with purchase.
- Search/hire Title Company, provide contract, order title report. Review and follow up on results.
- Establish and coordinate closing i.e. dates, documents, funding etc.
- Insure we receive deed & title policies after closing.
Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years’ experience as a real estate professional
- Strong sense of judgement when dealing with confidential information.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a high-level of accuracy with all tasks and pride in a job well done.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities at once.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Diligent and firm with high ethical standard.
- Quick learner, team platers, and ready to take on any challenge.

Working conditions
Special Working conditions may include: a change in days worked, shift hours, and/or working conditions (outdoors or other locations) when participating and assisting in special events such as: NYC Tunnel to Towers Run, golf outings, and other fundraising events, as required.
