Purpose Statement
The Aftermarket Repair & Rebuild Technichian will work to provide the technical inputs and coordination to the manufacturing unit to repair and rebuild customer parts and equipment. Generate cost estimates and Sales quotes, while maintaining all computer systems for the purpose of reporting, billing and statistical analysis. This team member will continuously develop and maintain relationships with Customers, Sales staff and Product managers. Furthermore, they will assist field service personnel in scheduling parts and materials for maintenance and service trips.



Job responsibilities and tasks
  • Prepare and communicate estimates to customers for repair and rework of equipment.
  • Enter repair orders into business system and expedite repair process.
  • Process orders to the service & repair shop.
  • Update / maintain serial number records of any changes to customer equipment.
  • Continually interact with customers via phone and/or in writing.
  • Provide technical and research support to Aftermarket Customer Account Managers.
  • Work with Field Service to support field rebuilds.
  • Assist with inspection and resolution of returned goods from customers.
  • Identify client complaints, communicate to appropriate departments, and initiate action to correct.
  • Continually follow up with customers.
  • Administer warranty program to include preparation of Return Goods Authorizations (may require starting process to issue credit memo and secure company approvals).
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of manufacturing reporting.
  • Domestic Travel to customer or vendor location(s) as required (very limited international travel possible).
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Education, professional experience, and qualification preferred/required
Candidate must possess High School Degree or GED with advanced technical education in mechanical engineering and/or drafting. Additional requirements: Strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of machining and fabrication/welding practices, ability to read and understand blueprints; excellent problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Candidate must be self-motivated, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work, make sound engineering decisions, maintain a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment, and work independently and/or team member. Candidate must work on an advanced level in computer systems to include Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) and have experience with an ERP system (preferably SAP).



Physical and Mental Qualifications
Position is performed in an office environment with the requirement of good mobility to move between departments, including manufacturing plant facilities which may be dusty and dirty, with varying temperatures and noise levels. Candidate will be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel, ascend/descend stairs, and lift approx. 30 lbs. Solid sense of sight, hearing, and touch, all required to communicate with internal and external customers. Potential exposure to industrial magnets as well as cutting and welding areas exists. Position requires work to be conducted in a safe and efficient manner at all times to include wearing the necessary PPE. All tasks performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
