Job Summary
This position will report to and work directly under the terminal manager. This is a position whereby the applicant will be trained on the critical elements of managing and operating the facility and will be responsible for the direction of employees and operations of the facility in coordination with the terminal manager.
Main Responsibilities
- Management oversight of approximately 10 plant operators and truck drivers.
- Terminal Maintenance – ensure all operating equipment is in good working order and that required maintenance is being scheduled and performed on time and on budget.
- Safety and Housekeeping – Ensure good general housekeeping and the safe working environment of all terminal personnel, contractors and truckers by implementing and adhering to the Colas safety excellence culture.
- Operations - Sets operational and emulsion production schedules and assists the plant manager and plant personnel as needed in coordinating production activities.
- Inventory Management – Scheduling and offloading inbound rail cars, raw material scheduling, week-end and month-end inventory measurement
- Work with accounting on inventory management, product invoicing, payroll, production, and other items as needed.
- This position will work with engineering, the corporate equipment group, management and accounting on Capex budgeting.
- Monthly and yearly budgeting of terminal expenses.
- This position will work closely with the QA/QC laboratory to ensure all tanks and products are certified prior to leaving facility.
Education and Experience
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with equipment in a manufacturing setting
- Strong organization and administrative skills
- Ability to learn and work with company computer programs (training provided)
- Ability to lead and develop
- Strong basic math skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong manufacturing equipment maintenance background
- Experience leading and developing employees in a manufacturing setting
- Welding, pipe fitting and general mechanical aptitude
