If you are a Human Resources professional looking for multi-site leadership, Emerson's Discrete Automation has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in one of our manufacturing facilities (Florham Park, NJ - HQ, Aiken, SC - Plant, Charlottesville, VA - Plant, or Sandusky, MI – Plant ) , you will be responsible to lead Operations and Supply Chain plant HRBPs activities, provide thought leadership and business talent strategies for our North America Operations & Supply Chain function. The ideal candidate should be an HR leader who has excellent judgement focused on continuous improvement, positive employee relations, aligning HR programs with strategic objectives, and experience with plant and HR operations.

In this role you will also have the ability to establish credible, consultancy-based relationships with VP Americas Operations & Supply Chain, Directors of Operations, Plant Managers, Director of HR Americas, and HRBPs demonstrating proven business knowledge and savvy to provide beneficial HR strategies and solutions.

As a Regional HR Director, you will:

  • This role is responsible for 6 of our North America facilities with a team of HR professionals supporting those sites (Charlottesville, Sandusky, Aiken, Lexington, Harlingen, Brantford CAN)
  • Deliver key HR programs, standard methodologies, and people solutions to our operations and supply chain teams.
  • Strategic consultation and coaching to senior leaders on organizational issues that contribute to the growth and productivity of the business and the team
  • Collaborate on planning and development of business/employee related programs and metrics that promote company goals and objectives, oversight of performance management, talent development, employee, labor relations, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Must be able to proactively manage a broad scope of initiatives & interactions from handling individual employee relations issues to providing advising to, and closely partnering with, senior management to effectively own the manufacturing people-related initiatives and the functions within those plants which includes Engineering, Operations, Automation, Procurement, Quality, EHS, and Supply Chain.
  • Drive continuous improvement and consistency of processes to deliver exceptional support across our facilities
  • Finds opportunities to enhance capabilities and productivity for the facilities
  • Advances Operations initiatives through consultation and relationship building, while ensuring alignment with regional businesses
  • Build and maintain a strong HR team; promote a culture of high customer service; actively encourage and foster sharing of ideas and cross-functional collaboration
  • Creates an experience-based talent culture across the Americas operations organization in aspects of talent attraction, development, improving organizational health and driving high performance culture
  • Empower frontline leaders in the business to create human-centric interactions, reduce complexity, and put decision rights (back) where they belong.
  • Promoting and establishing a collaborative environment with HR Shared Services team to ensure timely and accurate process of all payroll transactions
  • Develop strategies to address organizational change and related change management issues
  • Lead compliance with all regulatory agencies and employment laws in collaboration with Legal/Compliance and business partner(s)
  • Data - Tracks, analyzes, and uses appropriate workforce data from HRIS and other sources to make fact-based organization and people decisions
  • Provide effective leadership in promoting environmental, safety, and health initiatives through positive reinforcement of safe behavior

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • A bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience
  • HR change agent who thrives in ambiguity, is flexible, and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-directed and able to balance demand, capacity, change, and agility
  • Direct people-management experience with remote and local employees
  • Ability to assess HR implications of business strategies and priorities
  • Ability to use data and reporting to drive strategic decisions.
  • Ability to address sensitive information and difficult situations with tact, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Proven track record to partner and collaborate across global matrixed organization to optimize outcomes
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel between facilities to meet business needs
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • 4+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing and / or supply chain organization
  • HR Certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP
  • MBA or master’s degree is a plus

Flexible Work Schedule – Hybrid Work Option
This role has the flexibility of a hybrid work option up to three days a week. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.
