What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking a Research Assistant to work with Dr. Wade Rowatt in Psychology & Neuroscience on a grant-funded study on how people view art in a virtual environment and its impact on spirituality/religiosity. The Research Assistant will dedicate time to developing and running a study on Black gospel music and social justice. The primary purpose of this position is to participate in research activities, complete administrative tasks pertaining to the budget, and assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of research the laboratory.

A Bachelor's degree and a Christian faith are required.

*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Strong computer skills, with competence in Microsoft Word and Excel, and high internet proficiency
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • High attention to deadlines, accuracy, and details

What You Will Do

  • Complete CITI research ethics training
  • Schedule research participants using SONA system
  • Run participants through IRB-approved research protocols (in-person)
  • Reconcile the budget monthly. Submit bi-monthly updates to Templeton protal
  • Order supplies for the grant
  • Participate in weekly research team meetings (in-person or via Zoom/Teams)
  • Help other research-assistants when needed
  • Post grant-related job listings
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with university policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
