Restaurant General Manager Job Responsibilities: Our general managers set the bar and consistently raise it. They are committed to not just the success of the restaurant but every member of the team. They are passionate about service, food, wine and cocktails. They care about their team and focus on the creating an environment where team members not only excel, but go out of their way to create memories and make guests smile. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Creates restaurant business plan with Director of Operations by surveying restaurant demand and planning not just in the moment, but proactively to create a sustainable business model.
  • Meets restaurant financial objectives by analyzing key performance indicators and regularly meeting with team to adjust and plan for future.
  • Attracts patrons by developing and implementing specials, marketing and advertising plans
  • Controls purchases and inventory by meeting with vendors, tracking costs and adjusting menus as needed.
  • Maintains operations by adjusting and preparing standard operating procedures and reviewing policy and procedure to create consistency and set clear expectations.
  • Monitors, maintains and improves guest satisfaction by tracking surveys, online reviews and auditing service, food and quality.
  • Manages restaurant and bar human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training new and existing team members.
  • Creates a coaching environment where team members have clear expectations and accept feedback. Is respectful and communicates responsibly, is compassionate and empathetic, earns respect, but set clear expectations.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy facility by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures in accordance with local and state board of health guidelines.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry.
  • Takes ownership of all aspects of operations, hold themself accountable and sets the standard for relentlessly achieving goals.

Restaurant General Manager Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of front and back of house operations including food, beverages, staff supervision, inventory, and food safety
  • Strong understanding of cost and labor systems that lead to restaurant profitability
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Comfort working with budgets, payroll, revenue, and forecasting
  • Ability to win the hears and minds of individuals and lead them to providing a great guest experience

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience as a restaurant general manager
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in business management

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
