Retail Assistant Store Manager - Arlington, VA
Job description
Join our team as an Assistant Store Manager and build your path to the top! You’ll lead, facilitate, and quarterback the sales floor while holding your team accountable for our “100% Commitments.” You’ll also be responsible for your store meeting and exceeding revenue goals and WOW customer service expectations.
This is a manager-in-training position and you’ll be given the tools and training to make you as successful as you want to be! You’ll be measured by your ability to develop your successors and your team’s ability to consistently meet and exceed all key performance indicators (KPIs).
***Must have 7 day a week availability to best serve the needs of our customers and support your team.***
What you'll get to do:
- Demonstrate a level of leadership that comes from a minimum 3 years of retail/consumer sales experience including 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Monitor all store inventory and processes.
- Coach and develop your Inventory Support Specialist and hold them accountable for accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee our Finish Line checkout process and ensure that every customer is made aware of our VIP program’s incredible benefits.
- Be punctual and reliable as you will be entrusted with opening and closing duties.
- Develop team members, take corrective action, and lead the review process.
- Own the implementation of monthly merchandise plans and plan-o-grams as directed by our Merchandising Department to ensure a consistent product story within our stores.
- Prepare and conduct pre-race meetings to prepare your team members for the day’s events as they start their shifts.
- Participate in ongoing leadership training that will enable you to take the next step with us while identifying and developing your replacement.
- Inspire your team with your positive attitude and high energy.
- Look for and openly communicate opportunities and improvements that support retail goals. Search for and implement new, better ways to enhance the WOW shopping experience for our VIP customers, improve the work environment for team members and grow company profits.
What you'll bring to the table:
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university plus 2-3 years related experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats.
- Able to utilize key communications skills central to the RRS experience including but not limited to active listening, buying time, paraphrasing, asking questions, and responding to questions.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Investigates and uses appropriate problem solving techniques to manage to results. Maintains a professional demeanor at all times.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member. Practices team building, operates in a self-managed manner and contributes to the overall goals of the store and Company.
- Meets ever-changing requirements by being flexible, cooperative, and professional.
- Understands supports and contributes to team goals and utilizes team resources.

- Ability to use Microsoft Windows software applications.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and occasionally sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.
- The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Manual dexterity to execute fine motor skills. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
