Job description

PURPOSE & SCOPE

Here at A.W. Brown we are now proudly Employee Owned and looking for a Retail Buyer to round out our incredible team. The Retail Buyer is responsible for the merchandise assortment and topline strategies to drive growth in our store. The buyer is a key partner in determining distribution, and promotion of products while achieving sales, inventory, turn, and gross margin goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Align with A.W. Browns core values to drive our culture and business forward.
  • Accurately procuring products based on an inventory plan to support current and new opportunities.
  • Becoming well-versed in the ordering system to ensure we never run out of stock, quickly replace stock, and/or effectively communicate with all affected teams on inventory status.
  • Cultivating relationships with external vendors.
  • Working with suppliers to negotiate best pricing for quality products.
  • Performing new product research and sourcing.
  • Understanding items being purchased and the quality expected for each category.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience in retail buying (experience with Epicor Eagle a plus!).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
