Location: Tucson, Arizona 85712
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift:

• Day shift 7a-7p every other weekend required
• 7p-7a - every other weekend required

Guaranteed total hours a week: 36

• Travel Rate: $64/hr

Duties:

The Nurse-Patient ratios will vary depending on census & acuity level. The Staff Nurse & the Charge Nurse provide safe & effective nursing care in the assigned area(s) in a manner consistent with the philosophy & objectives of the Hospital & within the framework of established policies & procedures of the Department of Nursing Services. As a key team member in the clinical area, the Staff Nurse & Charge Nurse promote a climate of effective performance & learning through role modeling, willingness to learn & teach, & availability to patients & staff. The facility's programs include Adolescents, Adult Acute Inpatient, Adult Acute Inpatient Detoxification, Intensive Outpatient Program

Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited School of Nursing or baccalaureate program required
• Current licensure as a Registered nurse through the State of Arizona.
• Clinical experience in a psychiatric setting preferred;
• Charge Nurse: Minimum one (1) year in psychiatric nursing or one (1) year experience as a Charge Nurse;
• Must be certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation upon hire & bi-annually thereafter. - Required
• Must be certified in Handle With Care - Facility will train - Required: 3 Months
• Must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain - Required

Knowledge/Skills:

• Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
• Charge Nurse - Must be able to demonstrate leadership ability.
• Must be able to perform concentrated &/or complex mental activity with frequent involvement in complex &/or highly technical situations;
• Must be able to work successfully under highly stressful conditions;
• Must be able to make sound, independent judgments based on scientific &/or ethical principles;
• Must be able to comprehend & perform oral & written instructions & procedures;
• Must be able to collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion;
• Must be capable of adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis;
