American Alloy Steel, Inc is currently searching for a enthusiastic team player to fill the open position of an Experienced Roll Operator/Press Brake Operator in our Houston, TX Corporate office!

Roles and Responsibilities:

In this role you will operate an overhead crane in order to proper load and unload steel burning tables, as well as move inventory around the operations area for efficient production.

• Identification of steel material thickness, grade, heat, slab & mill matches shop order.
• Understand the safety guidelines in proper roll operation
• Experience operating plate roll equipment such as Davi
• Knowledge in rolling carbon, clad, and stainless steel plate from 3/8 inch - 8 inch thickness
• Setup press break for operation
• Experience in press-breaking heavy steel
• Prepare a steel plate for set up
• Ability to roll cylinders
• Operate hand tools such as a grinder, pry bar, etc in a safe manner.
• Adjust, maintain and inspect the equipment
• Comply with all safety and environmental policies
• Work in a team environment with regular attendance
• Knowledge and ability to read blueprints and tape measure
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
• Assist in other areas of the facility as needed
• Keep the work area clean and orderly and report potential hazards
• Must be available to work any shift

Required Qualifications:

• Must be able to work Monday thru Friday
• Be available for overtime or weekend duty that may become available
• Knowledge of different grades of steel material and properly identifying them
• Ability to follow verbal or simple written instructions and procedures
• Serves as a team member
• Prior knowledge of roll/press brake operation
• Experience in steel plate handling practices

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
