Universal Consulting Services, UCS, seeks candidates to become a part of a close-knit group of professionals for Service Desk careers to support RDT&E. This is an excellent opportunity to become a part of our team working for the Navy’s Naval Information Warfare Center, NIWC-Atlantic Service Support Center located in New Orleans, LA. Formerly known as SPAWAR – Atlantic.
This is awarded work with the opportunity for immediate hire.

This successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
The RDT&E Support Center Analyst, the SCA/Desktop Technician will provide technical assistance to end users and answer questions or resolve computer problems for customers via telephone or e-mail. The SCA/Desktop Technician is responsible to provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, that includes, but not limited to, printing, installation, networking, and operating systems. In certain instances, you will escalate issues to tiered support groups such as Data Centers, System Administrators, Database Administrators and Engineers.
In this position you will be using the following software tools:
- ITSM (ticket writing and tracking). Ability to select the proper template based on customer requirements. Collaborate with the team to create new templates as needed.
- Net web - Directory of all Government Furnished Equipment used on the RDT&E network. This is essentially a database of all of the equipment that is used on the RDT&E network.
- Must be able to navigate the tool to assist end users with system compliance, VPN troubleshooting, etc.
- NWIC Directory - Directory of all NWIC personnel - Helpful for determining location of employees, and their contact information.
- Ability to navigate the NWIC Command Operating Guide (COG). This is a comprehensive repository of Information of all things NWIC.
- The RDT&E Tier 1 support position requires an experienced, detail-oriented Desktop Technician to support various applications and hardware configurations. The successful candidate will communicate with end users at various levels to troubleshoot technical issues to include but are not limited to:
- Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service to both our staff and external clients. Must have the ability to explain technical information to a wide range of end-users.
- Experience in a Microsoft Windows environment. You will need to be able to Identify, research, and resolve technical problems for both hardware and software issues.
- Troubleshoot computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals.
- Knowledge of advanced computer-hardware including: desktops, laptops, smart-phones, and networking equipment.
- Sec+ CE, or A+ certification preferred.
