GARNEY CONSTRUCTION
As Safety Manager position in Austin, TX at Garney Construction. The main duty of the safety manager is to ensure the job site is in compliance with safety regulations. They will plan and conduct safety meetings, compliance training, audits, and inspections throughout the job site. The safety manager will be a liaison for safety expectations between owners, Garney, and employee owners in the field. The safety manager has a focus on identifying safety issues and hazards before they injure employee-owners. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Review, implement, and assist on safety regulations and standards to project management and field personnel.
Conduct safety training for job site personnel.
Conduct daily safety inspections to identify, document, and correct safety hazard.
Conduct accident and incident investigations. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Each safety representative shall meet the requirements of a “competent person” as defined by OSHA 1926.32 (f). The Safety Professional shall have a minimum of five (5) years construction safety experience and must be OSHA 30 hour trained at a minimum or any safety related credentials (3) years’ experience with OSHA 510 or any safety-related credentials. Degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or a safety-related degree preferred.
OSHA 30 Certification in Construction.
Bilingual- English/Spanish preferred
Must have or be able to obtain CST within 6 months of employment.
