We are looking for a Safety Manager to join our team. This position plans, implements, and coordinates safety program to reduce or eliminate occupational illnesses, injury, deaths, and financial losses.

Minimum Qualifications:

As a successful Safety Manager you will have:
1. High school diploma or general education degree
2. Minimum 5 years safety management experience
3. Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.

Role Overview:

1. Conducts safety audits/inspections to identify hazards and evaluate safe operations and processes.
2. Assist in planning, implementing, and coordinating the company’s safety programs and policies.
3. Prepare written safety and health programs and policies.
4. Facilitates and participates in company training requirements
5. Maintain safety library (e.g., videos, reference manuals, etc)
6. Promotes safety and health awareness through communications and training programs.
7. Assist as necessary in implementation of hazardous communication program and help maintain SDS’s
8. Facilitates and participates in company safety committee
9. Understand federal and state safety regulations in addition to providing support and ensuring compliance. (OSHA/MSHA/DOT).
10. Manage lost-time injuries/illnesses, workers compensation, general liability, auto liability claims
11. Prepare, review, and record weekly safety meetings, inspection reports, and other paperwork. Follow-up as needed.
12. Interpret laws and use these laws in communication, training and enforcement.
13. Assist with OSHA/MSHA inspections, public safety complaints, and insurance.
14. Assist with drug testing, hearing tests, respirators, and silica surveillance exams.
15. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written). Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
16. Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
17. Travel to jobsite locations required – Central/Western ND, Eastern MT.
18. Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record under Company policy.
19. Performs other duties as assigned.
