Title: Safety & Quality Training Instructor

Reporting to the Manager of Safety & Quality, you will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Safety training needs for the NPL Springfield, MA and central Connecticut territories. You will be based out of the Springfield, MA office, supporting Central Connecticut regions. You will provide training for our workforce on safety, quality and regulatory compliance, specific to our customer, Eversource. This position will require overtime, occasional work on Saturday and commuting to MA and CT.

What You'll Do

• Conduct training for new hire orientation, operator qualification training, OSHA training and other industry specific requirements
• Conduct Safety & Quality audits to assess transfer of knowledge from classroom to field
• Design new training modules and identify opportunities to improve existing training
• Employ adult learning strategies to maximize training for all types of learners and skill levels
• Utilize the Learning Management System to oversee record keeping processes and ensure training compliance
• Provide detailed reporting and data analysis relative to training validity, reliability and retention
• Obtain Operator Qualifications or evaluator status for customer
• Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership

What You'll Have

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years experience in natural gas construction
• Previous experience training adult learners
• Prior experience supporting Eversource and utilizing Energy Worldnet platform
• Prior experience in using Excel, PowerPoint and Word to create presentation material

Work Environment

• Some work is performed in the field at construction sites; field work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
• All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
• Must be able to sit, stand, and/or crouch for extended periods of time
• Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
• Flexibility to work varying schedules and stay late when necessary
• Travel required within the state routinely and out of state occasionally
• Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Legal Stuff

• Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
• Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
• Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
