VNA Home Health and Hospice has a fantastic opportunity for a Scheduler.

The Scheduler will work in a team environment yet have independent responsibilities for their field staff scheduling; have high-level communication skills to interact with all levels of the company and patients; and possess humanitarian attributes such as empathy, encouragement, respect, patience and those included in VNA's Core Values.

What you'll be doing...

  • Maintains positive work relationships and contributes to a team environment
  • Assigns home health patients to field staff for visits
  • Excellent customer service on all phone calls, patient, staff and office questions
  • Audits, as assigned
  • Creates and maintains PTO, Weekend, Holiday schedules as assigned in coordination with manager for field staff patient visits
  • Cross-trains in other departments
  • Observe HIPAA at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

A few other requirements for our Scheduler:

  • You will be a high school graduate; administrative assistant duties a plus.
  • A minimum of one year (1) year job experience in a service oriented field; medical office experience preferred and previous staffing/scheduling experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Excel, Word, and internet strongly preferred.
  • HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) EMR experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Familiarity with Greater Kansas City service area required.
  • Good organization and time management skills, good verbal and written communication skills essential.
  • Attention to detail and problem solve; ability to multi-task.
  • You will have routine contacts to include patient care staff, office support staff, physicians, patients, families, referral sources, and patient care staff

The position requires the ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the following essential functions:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to access, input and retrieve information from the computer
  • Ability to access and operate phones and office equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management.
