Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Scheduler/Project Controls to join our team in Duluth, MN or Minneapolis, MN!


This is an entry to mid-level scheduler/project controls role responsible for the itemized bullets below. This includes maintaining CPM schedules, baselines, cost controls, coordination, and updates. This candidate must have the ability to work independently, present schedule/ cost updates and recommendations for corrective action to be taken, and effectively communicate opportunities and risks within the schedule or project controls to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.


Responsibilities:

  • Familiar with project management and Critical Path Methodology (CPM) principles and techniques.
  • Creates, maintains, and updates multiple project schedules; including but not limited to:
    • Resource loaded schedules.
    • Cost and budget-loaded schedules.
  • Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and activity coding.
  • Assist project team(s) with resource forecasting, resource leveling, and resource workload.
  • Generate schedule risk models for ongoing risk assessments and performs schedule "what-if" analysis
  • Coordinates schedule status and facilitate project schedule meetings with project leads, multiple levels of management, and subcontractors.
  • Assist with project coordination from Job Number Request (JNR) through the closeout process.
  • Prepare complex reports in Excel for internal and external distribution.
  • Process complex billing on a portfolio of projects.
  • Timely and accurate entry of all invoices into ERP system
  • Obtain all invoice supporting documentation and approval prior to entry into A/P system, per Delegation of Authority matrix
  • Research, resolve and correspond with suppliers for invoice discrepancies or inquiries


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma. Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, business administration, or closely related field and schedule or project management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Well organized and ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Analytical skills with ability to dissect problems and quickly develop solutions.
  • Proven computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Experience working in a planning or scheduling position.
  • Familiarity with Project Management Institute (PMI) project management principles and techniques.
  • Experience managing projects with Microsoft Projects.
  • Familiarity with Primavera 6 Professional/ EPPM Version/ Primavera Cloud
  • Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, business administration, or closely related field and schedule or project management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
