Job description
ABOUT WORKING AT THE WALLACE FALLS LODGE
The Lodge is a 10-bedroom, 10-bathroom vacation rental and outdoor event venue located next door to The Wallace Falls State Park in Gold Bar, WA. We are a family-owned small business under new ownership as of 2020. We are ramping up for peak wedding season and looking for our next awesome group of summer lodgekeepers. We are a fun group to work with (if we do say so ourselves!). If you enjoy working hard and laughing harder while in a beautiful setting, then The Lodge may be just the place for you!
SEASONAL LODGEKEEPER
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleaning the Lodge, grounds and event spaces in a thorough, timely, and professional manner as part of a 4-5 person team
- Cleaning following weddings, vacation rentals, retreats and nightly room turns
- Complete set-up and tear-down of tables and chairs for weddings and events
- Washing, drying, folding, and restocking linens
- Maintain stocking and inventory checks for kitchen inventory items, cooking and cleaning supplies
- Help maintain property upkeep, including, but not limited to, trash removal, light weeding and minor maintenance tasks
HOURS & SCHEDULE
Lodgekeeping is paid on a per-turn basis at a rate of $125/turn. All turns begin between 10am and 11am. The team usually completes the turn within 5 hours, and may finish up to an hour earlier or an hour later. Many employees commute to The Lodge, which is why we have a per-turn rate, rather than hourly. We want our lodgekeepers to be able to count on making $125, even on the days they wrap up early. During high season, if you were to divide the turn rate by hours, our Lodgekeepers typically make an average hourly rate of $25/hour or more. Employees sign up for their own shifts in seniority order. Employees may trade turns amongst themselves.
On-call shifts require the employee to be available by phone from 10:30-11:30am, and within an hour drive from The Lodge. The on-call employee will be notified between 10:30 and 11:30am if they are needed. If they are needed, they will be paid the standard turn rate. If they are not needed, they will be paid a $25 on call rate and are released at 11:30am.
REQUIRED AVAILABILITY
- Must be available to work 15 turn shifts between June 1st and September 4th, 2023
- Must be available to work 5 on-call shifts between June 1st and September 4th, 2023
PAY & BENEFITS
- $125/turn (turns start between 10am and 11am and typically end between 2pm and 4pm)
- Sick time accrual at a rate of 1 hour per 40 hours worked
- Employees who live more than 20 miles from The Lodge will receive $1 per mile for miles 21+ for their commute. Example: You live 25 miles from The Lodge, you would receive $5 each way ($10/shift) travel reimbursement for miles 21-25.
- Employees who report on time and complete 15 shifts will receive an end of summer Thank You Bonus of $200
- Employees may increase their Thank You Bonus by picking up, and reporting on time, for additional shifts over 15. Every additional shift over 15 adds an extra $20 to your Thank You Bonus up to $500 (this equals working and reporting on-time to 30 shifts).
