REPORTS TO: Leadership
DEPARTMENT NAME: Various
JOB SUMMARY (2-3 sentences): Answers inquiries and provides information to the general public, customers, visitors, and other interested parties regarding activities conducted at establishment and location of departments, offices, and employees within the organization.

Job Responsibility 1:

Operates telephone to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.


Job Responsibility 2:

Greets persons entering establishment, determines nature and purpose of visit, and directs or escort them to specific destinations.


Job Responsibility 3:

Performs administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, or computers to work with specific programs, invoices, spread sheets, or other documents.


Job Responsibility 4:

Communicates with customers, employees, and other professionals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, take orders, and address complaints.


Job Responsibility 5:

Reviews files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests.


Job Responsibility 6:

Provides information about establishment, such as location of departments, classes, or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.


Job Responsibility 7:

Opens, sorts, and routes incoming mail, answers correspondence, and prepares outgoing mail.


Job Responsibility 8:

Maintains and updates filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES, REQUIREMENTS, AND IMPACTS


DATA RESPONSIBILITY : “ Data Responsibility” refers to information, knowledge, and conceptions obtained by observation, investigation, interpretation, visualization, and mental creation. Data are intangible and include numbers, words, symbols, ideas, concepts, and oral verbalizations.

PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITY : “ People Responsibility” refers to individuals who have contact with or are influenced by the position.

Follows instructions of supervisor.

ASSETS RESPONSIBILITY : “ Assets Responsibility” refers to the responsibility for achieving economies or preventing loss within the organization.

Requires responsibility and opportunity for achieving moderate economies and/or preventing moderate losses through the management or handling of supplies of high value or moderate amounts of money.

MATHEMATICAL REQUIREMENTS : “ Mathematics” deals with quantities, magnitudes, and forms and their relationships and attributes by the use of numbers and symbols.

Uses addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; may compute ratios, rates, and percentages.

COMMUNICATIONS REQUIREMENTS : “ Communications” involves the ability to read, write, and speak.

Reads technical instructions, charts, and/or procedures manuals; composes routine reports and completes job forms; speaks compound sentences using standard grammar.

COMPLEXITY OF WORK : “ Complexity of Work” addresses the analysis, initiative, ingenuity, creativity, and concentration required by the position and the presence of any unusual pressures.

Performs semi-routine work involving set procedures and rules, but with frequent problems; requires normal attention with short periods of concentration for accurate results or occasional exposure to unusual pressure.

IMPACT OF DECISIONS : “ Impact of Decisions” refers to consequences such as damage to property, loss of data or property, exposure of the organization to legal liability, or injury or death to individuals.

Makes decisions with minor impact - affects only those in immediate work area.

EQUIPMENT USAGE : “Equipment Usage” refers to inanimate objects such as substances, materials, machines, tools, equipment, work aids, or products. A thing is tangible and has shape, form, and other physical characteristics.

Handles machines, tools, equipment, or work aids involving little or no latitude for judgment regarding attainment of standard or in selecting appropriate items.

SAFETY OF OTHERS : “ Safety of Others” refers to the responsibility for other people’s safety, either inherent in the job or to assure the safety of the general public.

Requires some responsibility for safety and health of others and/or for occasional enforcement of the standards of public safety or health.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS : “ Education Requirements” refers to job specific training and education required for entry into the position.

High School or GED.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED : “ Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations” refers to professional, state, or federal licenses, certifications, or registrations required to enter the position.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : “ Experience Requirements” refers to the amount of work experience that is required for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the tasks required by the position.

Minimum of two years’ applicable experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : “ Physical Demands” refers to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

Standing and walking: generally 4 hours per day (sedentary)

Push and pull: unlimited grasp and fingering
Dexterity: ability to operate machines, tools or office equipment
Additional requirements: unlimited reaching to shoulder height; frequently climbs stairs; exposure to heat extremes.

The position is exposed to extreme heat/cold, wet or humid conditions, bright/dim lights, dust or pollen, intense noise levels, vibration, fumes or noxious odors, moving mechanical parts, disease/pathogens, and traffic.

SENSORY (ADA) REQUIREMENTS : “ Sensory Requirements” refers to hearing, sight, touch, taste, and smell necessary to perform the tasks required by the position efficiently.
