Custom Computer Specialists is seeking a talented and experienced Security Engineer to join our team. As a Security Engineer, you will play a key role in working with our clients on cyber security issues, preventing potential security threats, and delivering industry best practices for security configuration, monitoring, and management.

This role involves working with clients across Nassau and Suffolk County, NY, and will require travel to client sites. A car is required for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver managed security services, including next-generation antivirus, managed SOC services, and incident management.
  • Work with vulnerability tools, such as Scorecard, Nessus, Network Detective, and Vulscan, to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
  • Collaborate with clients to determine the best value approach for each security opportunity.
  • Drive best practices for security design, configuration, installation, and integration across our practice.
  • Work collaboratively with the business development team to match solutions to the marketplace.
  • Manage and deliver security consulting services to a wide range of clients.
  • Assume a leadership role over security services in general, including managing other security engineers, associate engineers, and technicians who are focused on security-based tasks.
  • Monitor service delivery progress and quality and continually work to advance our internal talent and capabilities around security.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a security technical lead, preferably in a professional services organization.
  • Demonstrated experience and certification with other security platforms, such as NGAV, SOC, vulnerability scanning, etc.
  • Command of security best practices and standards for information security, such as NIST, HIPAA, and PCI.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and quality awareness, and professional demeanor.
  • Multi-tasking and time management skills, strength at setting priorities, a problem solver, and able to self-manage and self-motivate.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office tools.
