We are looking for a Part-Time Security Guard who would work Wednesday night from 11 p.m. - 7 a.m. - with option for Thursday night. Other shifts may be available on-call to cover vacations.
There is a $1.00 /hour shift differential for NOC shift
The Security Officer is stationed at the Guard House unless they are needed else ware on campus. The Officer is the first person that our residents, visitors and guests interact with as they come onto our campus. The Officer must be professional and courteous in many different situations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduation or GED.
- Minimum six months experience in the security field or related areas.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s license.
- Motor Vehicle Record check with no serious violations recorded.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent memory for names and faces.
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Courteous and even-tempered.
- Excellent customer services skills
- Able to work independently.
- Regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.
- Ability to understand, speak, read and write English.
- Able to communicate well with a verity of people.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Deactivates Prox tokens to staff and residents as requested.
- Review video if requested and send requestor information, still pictures or video as requested.
- Monitor and properly respond to life safety systems.
- Issue and log passes to visitors and contractors.
- Maintain a log of events that happen on campus and responses to them.
- Provide support for emergency events as necessary.
- Help with project work as requested.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sit, stand, stoop and walk most of the day.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- May have to demonstrate the use of equipment.
- Must be able to work in varying conditions, close quarters, inside and outdoors.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens: Level III.
- Work often accomplished indoors as well as outdoors
- Experiences frequent interruptions.
- Possibly hazardous work environment due to equipment failure, electric shock and heavy lifting.
- May be exposed to weather elements of heat and cold for brief periods of time.
- May be exposed to cleaning solutions, dust, vapors and some infectious diseases.
- Must be willing to be on call during off duty hours and respond to emergencies when assistance is needed.
- Must be willing to work overtime without prior notice, should the situation demand.
