Senior Accountant
Job description
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for the day-to-day, month-end, and year-end functions of accounts payable, as well as other general ledger transactions. The Senior Accountant will apply knowledge and experience to determine the appropriate accounting treatment related to the financial transactions of the organization across the Americas region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable for the Americas region.
- Reviewing, preparing, and completing invoices for vendor payments
- Research coding of invoices to ensure proper classification and characterization of expenses and purchases
- Process vendor payments, including preparing weekly check runs, obtaining approvals, and preparing checks for mailing—attached backup when applicable
- Match vendor invoices to approved purchase orders and receive documents when applicable
- Prepare annual 1096, 1099-Misc, & 1099-NEC following IRS guidelines
- Assist in the preparation of monthly journal entries
- Support and aid with monthly closing schedules and balance sheet reconciliation
- Assist with money transfers for international and intercompany accounts on an as-needed basis
- Support with month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Provide analysis and support as directed by the Accounting Manager
- Liaison and interface with the Plant Manager, Operation team, and different levels of management to resolve discrepancies
- Provide backup for Accounts Receivable Billing, Cash Receipt application, and Collection calls.
- Proactively identify issues and recommend improvements to effectively streamline processes
- Performing other tasks as assigned or requested

- · Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills along with solid verbal and written communication skills.
- · Ability to handle multiple tasks comfortably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- · Knowledge of standard office software is essential, including proficiency with MS Suite.
- · Proven ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data
- · Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability
Requirements/Experience
- · Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required
- · Minimum of two or more years related accounting experience and/or training preferred
- · Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP)
- · Knowledge of accounting operations, such as accounts payable and general ledger using an ERP system
- · Knowledge & experience with Oracle EPR is a plus
- · Experience with manufacturing accounting preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
