Applied Energy Group (AEG) is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst to join the Project Services team within the VisionDSM IT Software as a Service Group. This position requires knowledge of utility energy efficiency programs, consulting experience, a full understanding of the SDLC, and team/task management. The Senior Business Analyst will work with Project Managers to support the delivery of medium to large size Energy Efficiency IT projects, to include making design decisions for configuration of our proprietary tracking and analytics system.
Responsibilities:
Work with Project Managers to manage delivery and pursue new project opportunities;
Work with Project Manager to define tasks and estimates for project plan;
Understand overall project goals and reporting needs to inform design decisions;
Develop an understanding of the client processes and procedures to guide design decisions;
Generate requirements specifications, use cases, process flow diagrams, user interface designs, and other system documentation;
Translate business requirements into technical requirements;
Track scope and changes throughout implementation;
Develop data flow diagrams with swim lanes to depict current state and future state;
Support users through training, as well as provide one-on-one technical assistance;
Coordinate project activities across multiple resources;
Monitor customer satisfaction and escalate where appropriate;
Facilitate meetings both in-person and on the phone;
Mentor junior team members;
Occasional travel for client meetings; and
Perform other duties as required.
Key Skills/Experience:
Ability to translate business needs/requirements into technical requirements/solutions;
Excellent understanding of data and how data can be used for tracking and reporting;
Strong customer service skills;
Ability to identify and elevate risks;
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities;
Ability to work with various resources
Experience with MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Solid consulting skills
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience;
Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience;
Minimum of 5+ years of Business Analyst experience;
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in DSM;
Energy Efficiency Program Knowledge;
Data Analysis experience;
Experience supporting BD and proposal teams;
Strategic thinker;
Understanding of full software development life cycle;
Strong analytical skills;
Must be a self-starter and have a can-do attitude;;
Demonstrated commitment to customer service
Excellent verbal, written, and consulting skills ;
May be required to pass security clearance.
