Under general supervision, performs daily assignments involving Procurement activities such as preparing Purchase Orders, analyzing quotations, expediting deliveries, and purchasing repetitive items where existing commercial arrangements have been established.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review requisitions and create Purchase Orders for a limited variety of material and supplies with established suppliers. Obtain and analyze supplier quotations and place purchase orders at the lowest cost consistent with quality requirements and urgency of need.
  • Manage supplier programs through the use of established goals and time frames regarding cost reduction, quality improvement, supplier certification, lead time/inventory reduction and delivery performance.
  • Practice preventative problem solving. Expedite the supply base in a proactive manner to provide proper linkage of required and promised delivery dates.
  • Expedite orders to meet production schedules as required.
  • Resolve quality issues related within assigned commodities / suppliers and obtain corrective actions.
  • Work with various functional areas such as planning, receiving, accounts payable to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Assist and or possibly create various Requests for Quotations and assist in the evaluation of said bid responses.
  • Maintain necessary records and files for efficient operations and prepares reports as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Provide support information for reports on performance, projects, shortages, etc. utilizing various programs and software.

The Individual

  • High school diploma or equivalent job experience, BS Degree preferred
  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience with procurement, experience with purchasing in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • ERP Experience is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite, intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills.
