Primary purpose:
Provide analytical and other professional-level support relating to the compensation function, including job evaluation and salary administration. The Sr. Compensation Analyst will study, analyze, and process information related to the compensation of employees based on their positions and other compensable factors. This role will develop, support and maintain global, market-competitive compensation programs that align with the business strategy and market conditions.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Provides support to the Human Resources team and management in the administration of compensation programs.
- Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Company’s compensation program, utilizing internal and external market comparisons, with a focus outside of North America
- Participates in the evaluation of positions up through the senior management level.
- Assists in merit budget planning and administration in compliance with Company policy.
- Monitors records for pay irregularities and reviews changes in compensation law.
- Conducts surveys and analyzes results to determine their impact and for compensation planning.
- Under the general direction of Director-Total Rewards, collects information concerning hourly and salaried jobs for use in determining equitable compensation of employees.
- Studies and analyzes assigned jobs and evaluates job descriptions in terms of an established evaluation plan.
- Performs audits periodically or upon request to determine whether jobs have changed significantly from the original evaluation.
- May conduct wage, salary, or benefit surveys in the community or industry to determine competitive compensation levels.
- Load market data into a selected market pay system.
- Assists in the development and delivery of year-end total compensation statements.
- Educate business partners on compensation practices and regulatory requirements (minimum wage, FLSA guidelines).
- Make recommendations regarding salary grades and fixed rates for specific jobs.
- Assist in the development of incentive programs.
- Research, analyze, develop, and recommend compensation procedures, processes, programs, and policies.
- Partner with external vendors and internal business partners to perform the daily administration of compensation programs.
- Ensure timely, ongoing communication to employees of all aspects of our compensation programs.
- Administer the market pricing and salary management system, including security, database management, testing, and implementation.
- Maintains the compensation information system and organizes data for the generation of compensation reports.
- Assist with the administration of benefit-related programs for the Total Rewards Department.
- Interact internally and externally with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
- Maintain a high standard of ethical conduct in all work activity and company matters of every kind.
- Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and careful listening.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
- Will work non-traditional hours as needed.

Minimum requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business, Human Resources, Communication, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of direct work experience in a Human Resources environment may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
- A minimum of 5 years experience actively working in a Human Resources environment.
- General understanding of the compensation process.
- Experience administering compensation programs globally.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Working Conditions:
- Overnight travel up to 5%.
- Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
- The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including a credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
- Experience with Salary.com preferred.
- Experience with ADP software.
- Professional Certification in Human Resources (PHR).
- Energy industry experience.
