Munich Re America Services (MRAS) is a shared service organization that delivers services to all Munich Re US P&C Companies and other group entities.The position provides technical expertise and direction on Data and Analytics projects in the Americas. Has overall responsibility for the design and implementation of all data programs in the US.
Responsible for design and implementation of data solutions across the Americas. Will be required to work with existing IT organizations in each of the US entities to collaboratively design solutions that are resilient and consistent with the patterns and platforms of Enterprise Architecture. This role is integral to moving the organization towards a single master data management strategy using the insurance models deployed today.
Major Accountabilities
- Directs a highly skilled data engineering team that will work to analyze functional requirements and drive the build of data pipelines to implement delivery of solutions in a multi-channel environment
- Partner with the DevSecOps team to ensure that the data pipelines are automated and properly secured in both the on premise and cloud environments
- Lead technical resources to ensure that technical solution architecture is in place for data models, pipelines, infrastructure, security, user experience, and data quality teams
- Partner with preferred suppliers to bring fit for purpose resources onto the delivery teams
- Capacity to lead transformational programs across multiple teams
- Leads efforts to tune systems for both performance and FinOps needs
- Manage projects leveraging an Agile delivery methodology
- Deep understanding of data warehouses/data marts/ data lake / data API’s in cloud-based environments
- Work with and/or lead data architects to ensure critical data sources/elements have been identified
- Work with management/architecture to align architecture solutions for the aggregation and provisioning of data globally
- Partner with architects to ensure appropriate data availability in support of advanced data analytical needs for the organization
- Lead technical solution product selection as needed
- Closely work with both logical/conceptual and physical data modelers to deliver optimized data models that support the required technical solution
- Provide estimates and estimation models for resourcing as needed for technical project delivery.
- Provide status reporting and partner with the PMO where needed
- Deliver Master and Reference Data solutions across the organization that will provide a single view of the customer and their relationships
- Supports all required IT organizational controls and will help to enable anything required where gapped for data specifically
- Leads development of standards and guidelines for technical data development
Your profile
Basic Knowledge, Skills, And Experience:- 15+ years of experience across data architecture, data management, and data delivery in Financial Services and/or Insurance organizations
- Experience in designing and building information assets leveraging modern technology platforms including cloud (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.)
- Experience with cloud data pipelining technologies such as Informatica IICS
- Experience with data platforms such as Oracle/SQL Server/DB2/Etc. and MDM/RDM tooling (i.e. Informatica MDM/RDM, Talend, IBM, Reltio, etc.)
- Experience with Insurance platforms such as DuckCreek and/or Guidewire and their data components
- Experience collaborating with key business partners and functional teams to ensure requirements are made available and understood by the technical delivery team
- Experience working with global partners and leaders
- B.S. and/or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
- Previous experience helping to lead Data teams through organizational change to improve efficiency, reducing costs, and integrating business units and their capability requirements
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
