Roles & Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership to drive strategic and technical improvements and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Global standards for assigned Americas Region labs- which includes all service center and distribution center locations in US.
  • Assists all locations in managing EHS regulatory compliance programs from all required governmental agencies.
  • Development of Lab General Managers (LGM) with proper expertise and understanding for all labs by guiding and coaching EHS resources, and performing tasks such as EHS training requirements, review of all site specific programs, incident and incident reporting/investigations, managing workplace incidents/injuries, and guiding/promoting leadership to implement a “zero injury” workplace.
  • Partners with lab leadership on implementing EHS initiatives, provides guidance and direction, and coordinates and facilitates EHS discussions.
  • Coordinate and oversee the EHS management system implementation, maintain, improve, and support for all locations in America’s region.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining effective EHS programs, foster a proactive work environment via proactive programs and interventions.
  • Participates with the leadership teams in moving the organization forward in progressive and continuous improvement environment.
  • Align and assist with the implementation of EHS Global (GESH) strategy in collaboration with lab leadership.
  • Partner with Workers’ Compensation carrier to review and reduce claims, this includes tracking costs and case management of all recordable injuries.
  • Collect injury reporting and analyze any trends to reduce injury claims. Coordinate corrective actions to reduce claims and lost time.

  • General knowledge of the requirements for importing chemicals under the Toxic Substance Control Act, EPA regulations, RCRA standards, Clean Air Act, and state requirements for hazardous waste generator status.
  • Ensure all required permits, licenses, and regulatory reporting requirements are completed and filed timely.
  • File NPDES applications as needed. Audit labs to determine if exempt locations meet the requirements for exemption certification. If SWPPP is needed, then ensure implemented and audit to ensure compliance.
  • Regional Chemical Safety Supervisor (RCSS) for America’s Region and ensure local Facility Chemical Safety Supervisor’s (FCSS) maintain program requirements.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and files within the document revision process, and ensure they are updated at least annually.
  • Maintain OSHA log for Dallas lab and ensure annual DOL and OSHA required reporting completed timely.
  • Ensure that all environmental compliance reporting and permitting is completed on time.
  • Other duties as assigned.
