Job Description
M. Braun, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Electrical Controls Technician II to join ourProgramming Department. This person will be responsible to program PLC controllers and perform the electrical design of the control panels, as well as the installation, troubleshooting and commissioning of system software. This includes electrical and software design for custom projects. This individual will:
Create programming codes for PLC controllers and other systems/components
Create electrical wiring diagrams and electrical panel layout drawings
Specify electrical and controls components and create bills of materials, and gets quotes for critical components
Create other electrical documentation as required on a project-by-project basis (e.g. interface documents, controls narratives, etc.)
Assist with general electrical assembly/troubleshooting
Interface directly with customers and suppliers to achieve project objectives
Prepare electrical labels for systems and distribute UL 508A panel labels
Install programming and debug systems
Perform ground testing on systems
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. This person should be able to stay focused and have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Job requirements include, but are not limited to:
Siemens 1500 series STL, SCL, and ladder logic programming knowledge required
Experience with TIA portal V16 required
Knowledge of previous versions of Siemens programming a plus
Allen-Bradley programming knowledge a plus
Codesys programming knowledge a plus
AutoCAD or ECSCAD experience a plus
US Citizenship (due to federal contracts in place, only US Citizens are eligible for consideration)
Experience
4-8 years of experience required
Physical and Mental Requirements
Physical Requirement: Climbing; bending; stooping; some light to moderate lifting and carrying; must have fine motor skills; be able to grasp small items; kneeling; ability to do a repetitive motion; and the ability to stand and walk for most of the day
Visual Requirement: Must be able to visually read wiring diagrams; and assemble electrical components
Hearing Requirement: Must be able to identify hazard sounds and be aware of the environment on the production floor for personal safety
Mental Requirement: Comprehension, Reasoning, and Communication
