Arthrex Manufacturing is actively searching for Sr. Packaging Machine Operator to produce quality medical instruments in accordance with Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. procedures in a safe and effective manner in order to exceed the customers' needs. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and fine motor skills. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required for this position. This position will be for Night Shift (Monday-Thursday 7:30pm - 6am). To set up and operate clean room packaging and inspection equipment, and assemble, label and package medical devices
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sets up and operates pouch and blister sealing equipment and performs inspections per established work instructions
- Performs burst testing, on pouches and blisters and properly filling out burst test forms and documenting testing data
- Operates clean room specific equipment, automated robotic assembly equipment including feeding of components into part feeders and running of pick and place equipment
- Performs machine set-up, verifies validated parameters, determination / installation and use of appropriate tooling
- Performs blister loading, pouch and blister sealing and visual seal inspection
- Load and orient unit devices into unit packages and / or automated equipment
- Inspects process output
- Complete Device History Records and tracking forms completely and accurately as required
- Assists in label reconciliation process
- Responsible for proper storage and control of tooling and fixtures
- Responsible for alerting the Production Coordinator of any maintenance or repair issues of any equipment or tools
- Responsible for assisting the Production Coordinator with setting up lines with required tools
- Assists in resolving DHR errors, material issuances and assist in open DHR carryover process
- Performs daily cleaning, monthly terminal cleaning and semi-annual terminal cleaning activities in the clean room
- Performs manual and fixture assisted device assembly and packaging on medical device components, kits, convenience packs and / or any clean room specific device assembly as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Have been a Packaging Machine Operator for at least 6 months or at least 1 year of manufacturing experience related to assembly and / or packaging of products using manual and mechanized assembly processes preferred
- The ability to correctly perform tasks by reading, understanding and following work instructions provided
- Use Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as required
- Ability to work independently when necessary
- May assist in performing training on incoming employees
- Able to use inspection tools and measuring devices to assure quality of product
Comprehension is required to perform the following operations / tasks; the occasional operation of the label dispenser machine, label printers, heat sealers, crimping machine, weighing scales, burst testing equipment, automated / semi-automated glue dispensing equipment, arbor press, tygon tube cutter, wire cutter, small hand tools, fixtures, and any advanced clean room specific equipment as assigned.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.
Language and Communication Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
Physical Demands:
Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Vision Requirements:
Visual acuity necessary to do the job safely and effectively.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
