3rd shift | M-Th | 8pm - 6:30 am
$15.00 Starting hourly rate + $2.00/hr shift differential

ITW Residential and Renovation, a division of the Construction Products business segment, is a global provider of premium fastening solutions that improve contractor productivity and building quality in the residential and renovation construction industries. Our products are positioned as market leaders and category leading brands encompassing wood to wood fastening systems (Paslode®), structural wood fasteners (GRK Fasteners™), concrete anchoring systems (Tapcon®, Red Head®, Ramset®), underlayment screws (Rock-On®, Backer-On®), self-drilling screws (Teks®) and drywall anchoring systems (E-Z Ancor®).
The 3rd shift Machine Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and preventative maintenance of nail collation lines.
Primary Responsibilities:
- We are looking for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and experience on mechanical manufacturing machinery such as nail headers, threader and collators.
- Able to make necessary machine adjustments to consistently produce products that meet quality specifications and maintain productivity targets.
- Perform efficient set-ups, changeovers, and start-ups.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Prior experience with hand tools (e.g. wrenches)
- Performs and documents quality checks in adherence to specifications sheets.
- Recognize and inspect quality issues and troubleshoots process or quality issues with engineers to correct and document.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Understand all safety hazards and follow all safety rules and precautions.
- Maintains, oils, and cleans machines on a regular basis. Drains and cleans oil trays; dumps scrap and sweeps floors to maintain housekeeping standards. Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
- Works with other team members and participates in team events and meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED, preferred but not required
- At least one year of experience in high-volume manufacturing highly preferred (e.g. equipment setup/operation/changeover, use of measurement tools and knowledge of preventive maintenance)
- Willing to work assigned shift with some mandatory overtime including weekends
- Ability to understand basic machinery
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must have above average troubleshooting skills.
- Must be self-motivated, a strong team player, and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to complete routine production and quality reports.
- Understanding and compliance with safety rules and regulations
- Demonstrate a willingness to cooperate in a team environment
- Ability to recognize and identify parts, problems, and offer resolution
- Ability to read blueprints / specification sheets and follow instructions
- Successfully complete on-the-job supplemental training (blueprint reading, technical math, and measurement tools, etc.)
- Close vision is required and the ability to focus
- General housekeeping duties
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, within typical manufacturing plant working conditions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment (office) is usually low, but much higher when exposed to the manufacturing areas. Combination of office/desk time and warehouse/laboratory time. Some travel may be required to construction jobsites or fabrication plants. Certain personal protective equipment is required when in laboratory or manufacturing areas. Warehouse can be warm during the summer.
