POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Manager will join a growing and a dynamic Finance Team and interact with various functions in the organization. Reporting to Senior Director, US Controller, the ideal candidate will be “hands on” and responsible for complex accruals, including R&D, CMC and product costing and inventory reconciliations. This position will be responsible for meeting close deadlines, ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX controls and coordinating the PBC’s with the auditors.
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in product costing, product manufacturing analysis, and inventory valuation with E&O analysis
- Reconcile inventory held at third parties
- Perform complex accruals such as R&D accruals, CMC including analyzing contracts
- Assist with all month-end accounting and reporting tasks, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
- Help with managing the month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close activities
- Coordinate the preparation of schedules to support quarterly and annual PBC requests with the auditors
- Assist with SOX documentation
- Collaborate with business partners, analyzing income statement fluctuations on a monthly basis, and report on variances
- Coordination with other intercompany partners to ensure that balances are in sync during the close process
- Maintaining and enhancing the company’s documentation of internal processes and controls
- Reviews accounting policies and procedures and as needed, recommends process improvements (including automation and operational efficiencies)
- Managing prepaids and fixed assets accounting
- Other special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Experience with NetSuite, Bill.com and Concur highly desirable
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUP, pivot tables etc. required
- Bachelor or master’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred
- Minimum 7 years of relevant accounting experience
- Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience is preferred
- Detailed experience with inventory and COGS accounts reconciliations and related accounting
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting
