Criterion Systems is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support a government customer. The Sr. Project Engineer will support a Federal customer in the effective and efficient execution of a range of task order activities and work assignments. The Sr. Project Engineer will support day to day project activities with a focus on engineering requirements and collaboration with the project team, Cyber architects, and stakeholders. Position requires deep knowledge of network and systems engineering with project management driving focus (Project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling and closing).
Responsibilities:
The Sr. Project Engineer will execute or assist with the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Provide engineering support to aspects of projects from design to implementation and integration.
  • Provide technical support for projects including planning, organization, and oversight.
  • Create and update project engineering drawings, and diagrams.
  • Support architectural discussions and planning.
  • Create and update engineering artifacts for operations and maintenance (O&M) transition such as CONOPS, Systems Design and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Collaborate and support the O&M engineering team to ensure a successful transition.
  • Identify project engineering training requirements for all stakeholders for pre and post project.
  • Ensure that the engineering design meets DOE and NNSA industry standards and complies with all Risk Management Framework Policy and procedures.
  • Help Project team to identify engineering KPI's to meet customer requirements.
  • Support the project manager in monitoring and reporting project engineering tasks, cost, and risks.
  • Coordinate with project managers to successfully deliver projects to customer.
  • Engage with internal resources and stake holders to ensure fulfillment of the project.
  • Perform engineering risk analysis and develop risk mitigation project plans.
  • Provide technical engineering support for the engineering process and procedures.
  • Provide Engineering designs, support implementation, communicate with project team and stakeholders,
  • Assist with drafting operational and maintenance plans for the projects.
  • Provide and create engineering Implementation plan to stake holders.
Qualifications:
  • US Citizenship (no dual citizenship)
  • Applicants who have a current DOE Q or DOD TS clearance are preferred. Applicants who do not have a current clearance must be able to pass the appropriate background investigations to attain one
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or ability to obtain it within 6 months
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field. 4 years of additioanl related work experience can substitute for the Bachelor’s degree.
  • Seven (7) years of technology work experience
  • Excellent written, analysis and communications skills – communicate clearly and concisely with diverse audiences and comfortable giving and receiving feedback
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with local and remote staff, customers and external vendors
  • Must have the ability to work on multiple projects with multiple deliverables – assess priorities and operate in a flexible manner in order to meet the dynamic needs of the team
  • Strong experience with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Attention to detail and ability to learn new concepts quickly
