Job Title: Senior Project Engineer -Wind and Solar

Location: Remote, USA

Type of Role: Direct Hire

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Global Edge Consultants, leaders within oil and gas recruitment, is currently looking to hire a Senior Project Manager for wind and solar working with a major energy client of ours. This role will be remote with some travel to project sites. The person selected for this role will be responsible for supporting project development activities, including but not limited to due diligence, permitting, technical advisory services, and project management to support the early stages of investment planning, through project development and operations. The role will be responsible for coordination or providing a holistic view of project performance, tradeoffs, CAPEX costs, Operational costs, and risks to optimize the overall project design (and Economic metrics) necessary to meet the requirements of the specific commercial opportunity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive the development of solar and wind facilities
• Manage relationships with consultants for various disciplines
• Define project scope, cost, timelines, risks, and other deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
• Assist in identifying new opportunities and potential fatal flaws in projects as well as proposing mitigation strategies to overcome challenges in project development
• Multi-task and perform highly detailed work under changing conditions
• Plan, execute and finalize multiple projects according to strict deadlines and within budget
• Coordinate the effort of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS):

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, civil, or related field)
• 5 years of progressive experience developing projects/project engineering for discovery to start-up
• Strong analytical capabilities and communication skills
• Expertise in utility sized solar and wind projects throughout project lifecycles
• Ability to structure and understand economics of projects
• Ability to apply engineering principles to identify issues and develop solutions
• Ability to manage through ambiguity

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
• Strong relationships with developers, OEMs, Engineering/technical/consultants, and EPC contractors
• Understanding of regulatory framework and stakeholders that influence the energy sector
• Ability to identify, attract, retain and develop the team members
• Ability to travel throughout North America
