Entegris is actively seeking a chemistry professional with experience leading a team to join our Hollister, California location as a Senior Quality Lab Supervisor. The ideal candidate would be responsible for planning and supervising the daily operations of the QA/QC lab to ensure that schedules are maintained and goals are met.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate day-to-day work activities of laboratory staff; prepare work schedules for lab personnel; provide direction to lab technicians; schedule testing, sampling, etc.;
- Resolve technical and analytical problems in the quality lab;
- Prioritize workloads and testing methods to ensure timely release of components and finished products;
- Assist in establishing and adhering to departmental and capital budgets to meet anticipated needs;
- Design and implement analytical methods; review and approve data and interprets results;
- Maintain laboratory records and documentation; prepare technical reports on lab activity;
- Maintain, repair, troubleshoot and schedule maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment;
- Establish EH&S processes and procedures; implement lab’s quality analysis/quality control, safety and chemical hygiene programs;
- Maintain lab supplies and equipment; ensure supplies and consumables are kept at acceptable levels; minimize spending; negotiate with vendors;
- Train lab technicians on procedures and techniques;
- Prioritize daily work flow based on input from production and outside sources;
- Conduct planned and/or spontaneous tours of the facility;
- Assist in maintaining ISO9001 and ISO14001 for the laboratory;
- Abide by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participate in appropriate safety training; demonstrates dedication to and support of EH&S principles and values; champion safety as necessary.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of routine laboratory and analytical operations experience at a chemist level or equivalent years as technician;
- 2-4 years’ supervisory experience;
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or related technical field;
- Analysis using standard lab equipment of chemicals and/or pharmaceuticals experience required, specifically ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC, GC-MS, IC, HPLC (-MS), IR or Raman, NMR;
- Must be willing to work around and with chemicals utilizing the proper PPE and following SOPs;
- Knowledge of SAP (or other ERP systems) and SampleManager (or other LIMS systems);
- Ability to analyze data utilizing valid statistical techniques and explain data analysis;
- Excellent English communications skills, oral and written; ability to successfully handle social as well as business interactions with all levels of customers’ personnel; diplomacy skills.

Pay: $71,000.00 - $113,000.00 per year
