Responsibilities:
The prospective candidate will provide direct advisory and assistance support (A&AS) as a Sr. Specialty Test Manager to U.S. Air Force customers in a U.S. Air Force Program Office. The customer Program Office provides planning and acquisition of cost-effective, long-term critical U.S. Air Force capabilities in an Integrated Product Team structure. The candidate will work side by side with customers and other A&AS contractors in the Program Office. Working with the customer, the candidate will also interface with major defense contractors who supply critical defense capabilities. The majority of the work will be performed in the customer work space. Some travel is expected.
The candidate will typically work on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and perform all functional duties independently. Personnel in a Senior labor category may oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
Accomplish a full range of new and ongoing acquisition test management tasks in support of AFLCMC/WB to include:
- Managing and executing all program test activities, including the planning, execution, and reporting of test projects, on behalf of the program office.
- Updating and managing all program office test documentation, including test plans, test priorities, test schedules, test memorandums, and test reports.
- Assisting in coordinating test planning working groups, logistical requirements, program office delegations, technical interchanges, and day-to-day interactions between the program office and supporting test, intelligence, and technology organizations.
- Applying systems engineering, test engineering and test operations expertise to projects and program challenges, and advising project leads and project engineers on all matters of test engineering as it applies to highly technical program office efforts.
- Supporting the Program Director at executive levels within the government and other contractor organizations, including major program reviews, inspections, conferences, and other program evaluations and major milestone events.
- Managing interactions and cultivating relationships between the program office, supporting government offices, other contractors, and higher headquarters mid to upper level staff.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment.
- TS Clearance required, SCI Eligible
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant DoD acquisition experience and a Master’s degree; or a minimum of 15 years of relevant DoD acquisition experience and a Bachelor’s degree; or a minimum of 25 years of relevant DoD acquisition experience.
- Test leadership experience on one or more ACAT I and/or ACAT II acquisition programs.
- Specialty Test knowledge and experience for various types of testing not normally associated with flight testing for ACAT I, ACAT II, or equivalent aircraft development programs:
- Planning, executing, and reporting of full-scale static, wind tunnel, sled, environmental/climatic, high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP), and live fire test and evaluation activities.
- At least five years of experience in developing and/or executing activities associated with at least one of the six above focus areas.
Desired Qualifications:
- Graduate of a formal Test Pilot School.
- An electrical, aerospace, mechanical or other relevant engineering degree.
